FMLM Trainee Steering Group - 7th Session: Leading through the climate crisis
The FMLM Trainee Steering Group (TSG) is excited to present the Introduction to Leadership Development Programme, tailored specifically to doctors in training. It comprises of a series of monthly free online events over the next year, which offers both an introduction to a range of core leadership topics, as well as key insights from leaders both within and outside the field of healthcare.
Each session offers a unique blend of education and inspiration, with the aim of supporting your development as a clinical leader. All attendees can record their learning in the FMLM Leadership Development Passport, which can provide portfolio evidence for your progression towards achieving the required leadership competencies.

7th Session: Leading through the climate crisis Wednesday 2 March: 7pm - 8:30pm

The climate crisis is a health crisis. It is the defining crisis of our time but we are far from powerless in the face of this global threat. This session aims to build hope and resilience in our collaborative effects to tackle the climate emergency. We will hear from leaders who work in this space about what leading through the climate crisis looks like and feels like for them, as they share their tips and suggestions for how we can all be leaders in this arena.
Aimed at doctors in training, but welcoming all clinical colleagues, this session will explore what leadership in this challenging and volatile sphere really means.
This session will begin with a reflective talk from a truly inspirational leader, Dr Nick Watts (Chief Sustainability Officer for the NHS), about his experiences of leading through the climate crisis, followed by a brief Q&A.
Participants will then experience and be able to contribute to a rich, empowering and thought-provoking discussion from our panellists.
