Wales regional conference

Prudent healthcare through excellence in clinical leadership

26 September 2014

FMLM is delighted to announce its first regional conference.

"This event promises to be an essential meeting for any doctor involved with leadership and management in NHS Wales. We are delighted that the Minister for Health & Social Services will be addressing the conference and all attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of interactive workshops examining the challenges and opportunities associated with delivering clinical leadership at a time of austerity. This event will also be your chance to influence the developing standards for medical leadership and management – don’t miss this opportunity!"
- Brendan Lloyd, FMLM Regional Lead, Wales & Medical Director Powys Teaching Health Board

FMLM Wales Regional Conference 2014 will be held at the All Nation’s Centre, Cardiff on 26 September 2014.

The event will explore how, in an age of austerity, the NHS in Wales manages the twin challenges of rising costs and increasing demand, while continuing to improve the quality of care. Workshops will give attendees an opportunity to consider how NHS Wales continues to deliver care according to the set of principles underpinning Prudent Healthcare, defined by the Minister in the Written Statement by Welsh Government “Delivering Prudent Healthcare in Wales” on 11 July 2014.

Delegates will also have an advance introduction to the standards of professional medical leadership and management being developed by FMLM, offering the opportunity for feedback and discussion. We want to hear from you, so book your place today!

As well as informative speakers, the programme includes a number of interactive and practical workshops.
