Dr Felicity Taylor

Clinical Fellow -- NHS England (S)

Dr Felicity Taylor is a fifth year specialist trainee in Paediatrics in London. After graduating with First Class Honours from Magdalen College Oxford, Felicity gained MBBS with Distinction in London.  It was during clinical training that Felicity developed an interest in selection processes and mentoring in medical education; she has coached over a thousand prospective medical school entrants, co-written a best-selling textbook for medical school entry exams, and is a trained peer supporter. Felicity is a member of the Trainee Committee for London Paediatrics, specialising in recruitment, selection and workforce planning.

Currently Felicity is working to develop a group within FMLM to increase the profile of women leaders in medicine and encourage women to aspire to leadership and management positions. She has also been invited to help establish the paediatricians in medical management group for the RCPCH.

Felicity’s clinical interests lie in acute paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases; she has published work in both fields and has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Disease at the University of Oxford.  After her year as a Clinical Fellow she intends to sub-specialise in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, an area that is undergoing substantial transformational change.  Felicity hopes that the skills gained from working on the development of a five-year strategy for specialised services at NHS England will enable her to drive the quality improvements that her patients deserve.
