Dr Holly Middleditch

General Medical Council
National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow 2022/23

Dr Holly Middleditch is a Genitourinary Medicine trainee at King’s College Hospital, London. She completed her Core Medical Training in South East London, having done her Foundation Training in the East Midlands. Holly completed her medical degree at St George’s, University of London, graduating in 2010. She came to medicine as a graduate, having done a degree in Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter and graduating in 2005 with upper second class honours.

Holly is passionate about reducing health inequalities and improving health for marginalised communities. This, coupled with her strong background in understanding systems and principles of resource management, drives her work in quality and service improvement, which has permeated her medical career to date. Holly is currently involved in the implementation of a new electronic health record system at the Trust, and has led a COVID vaccination clinic for particularly vulnerable patients living with HIV who faced barriers to immunisation. Holly has been delighted to recently extend her scope to a regional level, and is currently leading an award-nominated project for new and expectant mothers living with HIV in London, as a partner of the global Fast Track Cities Initiative.

Reason for applying for the scheme

Holly is a firm believer in maximising health by using an inclusive, multi-organisational and multi-professional partnership approach, to drive outcomes forwards at both a societal and individual level. The FMLM programme provides the opportunity to gain a unique insight into the role of key NHS partners, and Holly is hoping to gain a better understanding of the roles that different organisations contribute, whilst also gaining an overview of regulation, policy and legislation development. Holly is delighted to be joining the FMLM programme, and hopes that the singular educational experience that this will provide will enable her to grow her leadership style under expert mentorship, whilst developing the management tools that will enable her to better serve patients at a wider level as she creates meaningful and impactful change.
