FMLM supports NHS Improvement’s new guide on clinical leadership

NHS Improvement has published a new resource for trusts Clinical Leadership A Framework for Action  - a guide for senior leaders on developing professional diversity at board level.

The guide has been produced to support the realisation and delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan for England and the multi-agency implementation plan led by the Leadership Academy, in response to FMLM’s report on the Barriers and enablers for clinicians moving into senior leadership roles: review report - specifically Recommendation 11.

The guide looks at how existing structures and expectations may stand in the way of doctors and clinical professionals contributing to strategic leadership in England.
