Our most important conference yet

Leaders in Healthcare opens at the Barbican Centre, today, and we look forward to meeting members, fellows and colleagues for our most important conference yet.

We will kick off with a keynote panel discussion featuring speakers from the four nations of the UK, who will focus on the challenge ahead to expose some of the issues which will affect the future delivery of healthcare.

These issues are expected to thread through many of the sessions at this year’s conference and our aim is to encourage participation on an individual, team, organisational and system level, not just to stimulate learning and development, but also to apply collective leadership to some particularly wicked problems.

We look forward to welcoming our fellows to the fellows’ lunch reception (with Covid safeguards in place) to commemorate their achievements – in particular, those who have recently been awarded their fellowships.

The closing keynote of the day will be delivered by our recently awarded senior fellow, Dr Henrietta Hughes OBE, who will share her experiences and reflections on five years as the NHS National Guardian in Speak Up, Listen Up, Follow Up – your role as a medical leader.

We will round off our first day of conference with a reception (again applying all necessary safeguards) to mark FMLM’s first 10years of working with dedicated members, fellows and colleagues to raise the standard of medical leadership and improve patient care, while also starting to look towards the next 10 years.
