An introduction to the Medical Engagement Scale

In his appearance before the Health Select Committee in the wake of the Francis Report on Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust Sir Bruce Keogh suggested that “Medical engagement is the key” to such performance problems. There is increasing evidence across all sectors world-wide that engagement is a crucial element of organisational performance. Regular surveys conducted by Gallup show that:

  1. The world’s top performing organisations understand that employee engagement is a force that drives performance outcomes;
  2. Engaged employees are more productive.
