KP: The Autobiography

By Kevin Pietersen
Sphere
October 2014
978-0751557541
RRP £20.00. Kindle edition available for £7.99.

In one of the most hotly anticipated sporting autobiographies of recent years delivered from a genius of the game, KP sheds light on the events surrounding his enforced exile from the England cricket setup.  Whether the exile was a timebomb of self-destruction or a walk of the plank has become a matter of furious debate for commentators.  Whatever the truth, the book provides plenty of insights into how one member of a team who once helped place them on the top of the world could end up being cast into the wildnerness, a demise fuelled by that very modern bane for sporting personalities - social media.  In an interesting publishing move, Roy Keane's autobiography was released the very same day by W&N.

How things change

Hi Kaanthan,

Time and events always change perspective.  How the game has evolved beyond the majority of domestic English players has just shown how far ahead of his time KP was.  And now he might come back... will he play for England again and how would management feel about making such a u-turn in the shadow of previous steadfast rejection?
