Systems leadership and organisational culture

As part of the Better Training, Better Care Programme to improve patient care, we discussed the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust pilot project which aimed to ‘Make Every Moment Count’ by providing a high standard of training in quality improvement practice for specialty trainee doctors to enhance patient care.

The project sought to address the apparent gap between learning opportunities from everyday recognised problems and how these translate into effective action and improvement change in everyday practice. The webinar will explore the project in the context of the theme, explore lessons learnt and consider how this project can be adapted and adopted elsewhere.

The panel included:

  • Dr Emma Vaux, Consultant Nephrologist, Director of Quality Improvement, Associate Medical Director Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board
  • Dr Rob Bethune, Consultant colorectal surgeon, Clinical Advisor South West Academic Health Science Network
  • Dr Pierre-Antoine Laloe, Anaesthetics SpR
