Ms Sarah Cranshaw

Royal Pharmaceutical Society 2021/22

Having graduated in 2014 from the University of Bath, Sarah completed her pre-registration year in community pharmacy with Boots UK based in the South West. Following a successful year, she stayed with them post registration where she took the role of relief pharmacist for 6 months before moving on to take on a store manager role where she was responsible for managing the pharmacy and retail sides of the business.

In 2017, she moved on to take on the role of Teacher Practitioner with Day Lewis Pharmacy and the University of Bath. In this role she was responsible for the design and on-going delivery of a novel high-fidelity competitive gamification-based simulation unit for final year students at the University of Bath. Alongside this role she continued to work in clinical practice and in service development for Day Lewis and was part of an award-winning team developing Patient Group Directions.

In 2020, she was awarded her PGCert in Clinical Pharmacy Practice (Primary Care) and was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.Reason for applying for the schemePharmacy is in a time of enormous change and development, and this does not come without its challenges. There are numerous opportunities for the profession for which we need to ensure that we can lead the profession through. To achieve this, we need strong leadership and the development of future leaders to continue the journey.

Being a part of the scheme, Sarah hopes to be able to develop her leadership and management skills to ensure that we make the most of these opportunities now and in the future. Alongside this, she hopes to gain experience in project management at a national level, how the healthcare system work and is influenced through policy development and the driving factors for influencing change. She hopes to use this to help support her passions of education and development.
