Dr Chee Yeen Fung

Clinical Fellow, Health Education England (HEE)

Chee Yeen is a GP trainee in London having completed her undergraduate medical training at UCL.

Chee Yeen has always held a keen interest in medical education and was writing modules and teaching resources for UCL Medical School even as an undergraduate student. Chee Yeen went on to become the Clinical Education Fellow at Imperial College School of Medicine, assisting in their undergraduate curriculum and assessments restructure, as well as conducting and publishing national and international educational research.

Chee Yeen’s interest in education and training also led her to serve as a foundation and GP trainee representative, and later went to Chair the South London GP Trainee Committee. She is currently the RCGP AiT Lead Representative for South London and co-leader of the national trainee-led review of the GP curriculum.

In 2014, Chee Yeen founded the “Dr. Me Project”, a voluntary health promotion programme which educates children to appropriately self-care at home and responsibly use NHS resources. Now in its 5th year, she has trained over 50 doctors and medical students, and taught over 150 school children about self-care, on a completely free and unfunded basis. Her award-winning work with “Dr. Me” has been presented at national and international conferences.

Chee Yeen is passionate about health education, and firmly believes that well-led, well-supported, innovative training at every stage promotes the highest quality, healthiest and most inspired doctors.
