Dr Danielle Eddy

Clinical Fellow, Public Health England

Danielle Eddy graduated from Cardiff University 2013 and undertook  foundation years in Newport, Wales. Following a move to Bristol she entered paediatric training in the Severn Deanery. During this time she developed an interest in Paediatric Endocrinology and conducted several QI projects in this area. Whilst at Bristol Children’s Hospital, Danielle Eddy and a colleague redecorated the Doctors Mess as a wellbeing initiative and introduced regular hot food, a project which was later published as an interview in the BMJ. Most recently she has been a QI fellow working on national projects in differences of sexual differentiation and studying for a PGCert in Healthcare Leadership and Management at Exeter University.

Danielle Eddy applied for the scheme after developing an interest in leadership within the NHS. During the time spent studying for her PGCert it made her reflect on how important good leadership is in ensuring the longevity of the NHS and how it can empower junior doctors to make meaningful change. Having studied the theory of leadership within healthcare she now looks forward to learning about leadership in practice.
