Meelad studied Medicine at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating in 2017 and received a number of prizes and awards. He intercalated in Management at Imperial College London, publishing work analysing service delivery in end of life care and presenting this at the King's Fund and Royal Society of Medicine.
He spent the last two years as an Academic Foundation Doctor in London, undertaking research on the role of virtual reality in the management of Dementia with the UCL School of Primary Care and Population Health. He has published research in several peer-reviewed journals and led a number of quality improvement projects.
Meelad applied to the scheme to better understand how to influence positive change on a national scale.
