Dr Claire Edwin
Claire Edwin is an Associate Fellow of FMLM, she is General Practice registrar working in Bath and Somerset. Claire is a past National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow (2021/22) where she worked between NHS England & NHS Improvement in the NHS Resilience team and the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management. Claire completed the academic foundation programme with the University of Warwick. A placement in public health provided a brilliant insight into the wider determinants of health and populational health management, and inspired Claire to gain more experience in management and leadership. Having volunteered as a project manager and medic with Raleigh International in Costa Rica in 2019, Claire went on to successfully complete core surgical training in North West London.
Claire has a strong belief in the importance of clinical leadership, recognising this interest Claire elected to take a year to develop her skills as a leader and broaden her understanding of our healthcare system. Having switched career direction, Claire is hoping to develop a portfolio career in General Practice, mixing her practical skills and surgical experience with a generalist career and additional leadership roles. Claire is looking forward to joining the FMLM TSG in 2024. In her spare time, Claire enjoys singing, gardening and keeping active.
