FMLM member appointed as new Chief Inspector of Hospitals for England

Congratulations to FMLM member, Dr Sean O'Kelly, who has been appointed by the Care Quality Commission as England's new Chief Inspector of Hospitals.

Dr O'Kelly, who is currently Regional Medical Director and Chief Clinical Information Officer for NHS East of England, will take over the role later this Spring from FMLM member, Professor Ted Baker, who retires at the end of this month.

Dr O'Kelly, said: 

“Throughout my career I have become ever more aware of the central importance of effective, compassionate clinical leadership in securing the success of clinical service improvements and better quality care for patients”.

FMLM welcomes Dr O'Kelly's appointment and his clear support of clinical leadership as a vital component in achieving the best outcomes for patients.
