Mr Anthony (Mac) Mckeever

Qualifications

Diploma in coaching and mentoring (Level 3, CIPD accredited)

About me

Having started out as a fast stream Civil Servant, most of my career has been spent working at Board level in the NHS nationally, regionally and at local level. My know-how is in delivering reform and required results in health care, with experience gained in specialised, acute, mental health, community and primary care services. As a CEO, I helped turnaround performance at several hospitals and commissioning organisations and served on the Prime Minister’s Future Forum in 2010. I have also worked in the private sector and run my own consultancy business.

I believe in and have actively promoted clinical leadership for 30 years. Coaching, mentoring and other development work provides opportunities to support colleagues, share what I have learnt and to encourage the next generation of medical leaders.

Coaching process

My particular expertise is in helping people identify and unlock their potential, so they can maximise their own performance and learn how to become more effective leaders and managers. We will therefore discuss and agree a bespoke process that addresses your particular needs and ambitions.

What can I offer you

I can offer motivational support; challenge; some vicarious learning; and ideas on how to achieve what you want. The rest is up to you.

Henry Ford said: “If you think you can or you think you can’t - you’re right either way”. I will help you form a considered view of what is possible and what achieving your goals may entail.

What are your three unique selling points that separates you from other coaches?

1. Empathy and humility born of many trials and setbacks along the way

2. A track record of putting policy into action nationally, regionally and locally

3. A belief that successive Governments/Ministers have made a positive difference
