FMLM Trainee Steering Group - Introduction to Leadership Development Programme

The FMLM Trainee Steering Group is excited to introduce you to a new Introduction to Leadership Development Programme, tailored specifically to doctors in training. It comprises of a series of monthly online events over the next year, which will offer both an introduction to a range of core leadership topics, as well as key insights from leaders both within and outside the field of healthcare.

Each session will offer a unique blend of education and inspiration, with the aim of supporting your development as a clinical leader. All attendees can record their learning in the FMLM Leadership Development Passport, which can provide portfolio evidence for your progression towards achieving the required leadership competencies.

We’re delighted to be hosting this programme, and we look forward to welcoming you on the next step of your leadership journey.

1st session: Rising to the Challenge of Sustainable QI, 22 June 2021, 7pm - 8.30pm

East of England will present ‘Rising to the Challenge of Sustainable QI', delivered by Tanvir Hossain, FMLM Trainee Steering Group, ST8 Upper GI Surgery, Nottingham University.

The session will feature guest speakers:

Dr Aklak Choudhury, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Foundation NHS Trust who has a particular interest in supporting trainees with Quality Improvement and inventor of eHandover; a national award winning electronic solution for safe medical handover

AND

Ahmed Hossain, Head of Engineering Quality & Improvement, Rolls Royce

We have traditionally taken lots of lessons from the manufacturing industry around Quality improvements as far back as the second world war. This will be an excellent opportunity to hear from experts not only within the NHS but also  in the manufacturing industry about how you can not only make quality improvement successful, but most importantly sustainable, and how we can apply these lessons to our work within the NHS.
