Reason for applying for the scheme

Leadership and management has always been an area of interest. Both within the clinical setting and out with, I have found myself deeply interested in and appreciative of good leadership and management and the benefits derived from these. My motivation comes from a drive to gain a greater understanding of those traits which define a good leader and how these can be utilised to achieve measurable results. I believe the scheme will aid in shaping and refining my leadership skills to enable me to reach my potential in any leadership role. Beyond this I hope the scheme will allow a greater appreciation of the larger management structure across healthcare areas allowing me to make more informed and impactful decisions in any future post I may hold. I hope it allows me to lead by example and inspire others to pursue their own self-improvement and leadership goals.
