Dr Mohsin Choudry

National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow
Royal College of Physicians (London)

Mohsin studied medicine at Peninsula Medical School and graduated from Exeter University in 2012. He intercalated in Advanced Human Anatomy at King's College London, gaining a bachelor’s degree.  In 2014 a passion for surgery led to his appointment as a core surgical trainee with a plastic and reconstructive theme.

Mohsin’s leadership journey began as a student when he was elected as chairman of MedSoc. He successfully transformed the committee towards student society of the year through membership engagement and the development of relationships with external organisations and businesses. In 2009 he established the highly successful academic society, the Peninsula Undergraduate Medical Society, and received the Peninsula Citizenship Award for his work in augmenting the medical school curriculum. Mohsin undertook his foundation training with the innovative Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.  During this time he collaborated with the Deputy Medical Director to examine and subsequently improve the low incidence of incident reporting amongst doctors in training.

A passion for education led Mohsin to set and up his own company, MedAccess Services, in order to empower prospective medical and dental students with simple yet effective tools to be successful in their application to university. In his spare time he has been part of a team of volunteers raising approximately £120,000 for disaster and emergency relief work through a variety of activities including community events, national and local fundraisers.

This year Mohsin is a National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow at the Royal College of Physicians of London under the supervision of Dr Kevin Stewart in the Care Quality Improvement Department. He is leading on patient safety and quality improvement, shaping this new and exciting area of work for the college.
