Explore our revamped website

You asked. We listened. We have redesigned our website to create a more tailored experience for our visitors.

Whether you are a medical student, a trainee, a GP, a consultant, an SAS doctor or a senior medical leader, you will find it much easier to move around the site and access the resources, events and networking groups appropriate for you.

Why we have changed our site

We talked to our members and colleagues and discovered that our website was not as easy to navigate as it should have been, and visitors were not always able to locate the resources and services provided for them.

What we have changed – in a nutshell

Everything in one place

Students, trainees, GPs, consultants and SAS doctors, and senior medical leaders can now navigate the website by career stage. You can start with your dedicated landing page where we highlight the most relevant content for you from across the website – latest news and opinion pieces, events, jobs and opportunities, and programmes of interest.

Search at the heart of the browsing experience

To help you make the most of your time on the website, we have put search at the heart of the browsing experience on the major sections – events, news and opinion, and resources. You can filter the search results by a few different criteria, including career grade, theme, location or type.

More for members

As a member, you can now clearly see which programmes, services, resources and events you have unique access to. It is also easier to access the members’ directory and connect with your peers, edit your profile and see your transaction records.

A brand new jobs and opportunities area

If you are looking to step up into your next – or even your first – leadership role, check our jobs and opportunities area, where we will feature selected advertised opportunities from national and international healthcare organisations, including the third sector. Do get in touch if you have a role you would like to feature in this section.

New resource collections

To make it easier for you to explore topics of interest, we have created resource collections with articles, podcasts, videos and e-learning materials on different subjects in one place. So you can now explore our contemporary leadership series produced in collaboration with Thinkers50, our transition guides, assessment and diagnostic tools, and our latest leadership online collection. Do let us know what else you would like to see here, whether it is topics for new collections or content for the existing ones.

More friendly and engaging

And finally, we have improved the design across the website to add more colour and make better use of images, while preserving a clean and simple look and feel. We have set out to make the design and tone more friendly, and we hope more inviting. We want you to join the conversation (it’s still easy to use our comments feature) – why not give it a try?

We have made a few more tweaks and improvements, but these are the main ones we wanted to highlight. We invite you to explore the website, on a device of your choice, mobile, tablet or desktop, and discover what else is new.

Work in progress

Like any website, www.fmlm.ac.uk is still work in progress, so we would love to hear what you think of the new changes, what you like, what you don’t, and what you want us to develop next.

We’re also eager to hear your ideas about what type of content you would like to see more of and, why not submit an article or an opinion piece, highlight a report we should feature or let us know of an exciting event you’re organising. Please contact Irina at Irina.savin [at] fmlm.ac.uk or tweet us at @FMLM_UK

Thank you to all our members and colleagues who gave us feedback and ideas throughout the process, your insights have been incredibly valuable!
