FMLM Head of Professional Services moves on

FMLM has bid a fond adieu to one of its early team members, Donna Hickford, who has moved to join The Health Foundation after more than eight years with the Faculty. 

Donna joined FMLM in 2013 as Board Secretary and Deputy Manager, becoming Head of Professional Services in 2019, after FMLM became an independent charity. During this time, Donna was a key player in driving FMLM’s professionalisation agenda, but was most instrumental in producing the initial National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow Scheme with FMLM Chief Executive, Peter Lees, on behalf of NHS England. Donna helped to grow the number of national clinical fellow schemes produced and managed by FMLM from one in 2013 to eight schemes for all clinical professional groups in 2021. 

Peter Lees, FMLM Chief Executive, said:

"It is always sad to lose a great colleague but Donna has given immense service over most of FMLM’s history. Her next role is a just recognition of her abilities.

"We will remember Donna for the delivery of many successful initiatives and also, as a loyal colleague, always ready to go the extra mile and with a passion for what she does. Many will recognise how much Donna cares about members and fellows as well as colleagues in FMLM. In short, we will miss her and wish her well."

Donna will take up her new role as a research programme manager at The Health Foundation in March.
