Dr Prash Ladva

NHS England
National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow 2023/24
Doctor

Prash is an NHS doctor, Associate Non-executive Director at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Clinical Entrepreneur and the founder of two healthcare start-ups.

In 2019, he founded LinkMedics (thelinkmedics.com) to support British citizens who had completed medical training outside the UK, ensuring the NHS could nurture UK talent. LinkMedics is now the world-leading "one-stop-shop" for overseas-trained healthcare professionals. As Chief Executive Officer, Prash provides clinical leadership to LinkMedics programmes, which provide pastoral care, professional development, clinical teaching and supported NHS employment. LinkMedics has delivered millions in NHS savings, working closely with NHS Trusts across the country.

In 2023, Prash was appointed as an Associate Non-executive Director at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, an essential mental health provider Trust with a large footprint across Greater Manchester. Prash's portfolio covers a wide landscape of health, social care and education; he was previously an Innovation Fellow at the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System, and he currently sits on the governing board of his previous primary school in Lancashire. Prash has completed training at the NHS Leadership Academy and is currently studying for a Graduate Diploma in Law. Prash actively mentors young migrants who aspire to pursue careers in the NHS or entrepreneurship, increasing social mobility, and he has just been shortlisted for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in his hometown.

Reason for applying for the scheme

Prash believes clinical staff can make excellent healthcare leaders, given the skills and opportunity. This is compounded by their ability to use lived clinical experiences to influence policy and have a much wider-reaching positive impact on patients and the healthcare system. He also believes that the best leaders have an intrinsic ability to win the hearts and minds of all stakeholders - key for collaboration and the uptake of innovation. Prash is excited to join NHS England's Workforce, Training and Education directorate at a time when the NHS faces unprecedented challenges to learn how his mentors lead transformation nationally, network with like-minded fellows, and make a meaningful contribution to national policy.
