Dr Rachel Rajadurai

Rachel Anjali Rajadurai is an Internal Medicine Trainee in the West Midlands Deanery and completed her undergraduate studies in South India, moving to the UK to pursue her further studies and completing the foundation programme in the Severn Deanery.

As an undergraduate Rachel was awarded the Linnaeus-Palme scholarship which enabled her to study healthcare delivery models in the Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and University of Florence, Italy, as part of her course of study in healthcare management. 

During Rachels Foundation Programme, she was appointed an Innovation Fellow in the Severn Deanery and founded a trust-wide Junior Doctors Ethics Forum as a peer - led educational quality improvement project to increase awareness around medical ethics and law - recently widening this forum to include foundation doctors in the West Midlands Deanery. Rachel has presented this nationally recognised project at international QI (BMJ Health and Safety, AAME) and Education conferences (ASME and RCP Medicine Conference) .

Rachel's academic interest in healthcare management, particularly focusing on transformational leadership driving change led her to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Management at Keele University during her IMT training. 

Rachel recently graduated from the FMLM National Medical Director's Fellow Scheme at NHS England working with the Medical Directorate - during this time Rachel launched a national "Share and Learn" network for good practice in International Medical Graduate Induction and support with a membership of 25 trusts and workforce leads. Rachel is currently working alongside colleagues at NHS Workforce, Training and Education (WTE)  directorate to formulate a strategy for locally employed doctors. 

In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and cooking spicy Sri Lankan curries!
