TEDxNHS – the start of a journey

On a bright, sunny day in late August, a number of healthcare staff across the NHS came together to participate in TEDxNHS 2016. The event was open to anyone working in the National Health Service, either through attending in person at Campus London or via an online livestream link.

What is TEDx?

TED is an international non-profit organisation devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. It was first started in 1984 as a conference where technology, entertainment and design converged, and today covers a wider range of topics, in more than 100 languages. The TEDx programme is designed to help communities, organisations and individuals spark conversation and connection through locally designed events.

The event

Our theme for TEDxNHS was ‘Reimagining Health’ which consisted of 16 talks, performances and videos covering three topic areas. First up was ‘Designing User Experience’ an opportunity to consider how we could work to better design healthcare services with and for the public.
