The NHS Leadership Academy's Leadership Framework

What is the NHS Leadership Academy's Leadership Framework?
Published by NHS Leadership Academy

The 360 degree feedback tool is ideal for individual reflection on personal development.  It has most value when information is collected from a range of personnel, for example, line managers, direct reports, peers or colleagues and direct recipients of services.  Ideally there should be a minimum of twelve interviewees.

The tool measures development by analysing feedback according to detailed leadership behaviours, which can be a fairly intensive process.  However the real value lies in discussing the individual feedback report with a trained facilitator, resulting in the creation of a personal development plan which should be reviewed within a two year period.  There may be a financial cost to engaging a facilitator but this can be discussed with an employer.

Specific benefits include the identification of blind spots, understanding individual strengths and a sense of empowerment from personal development.  The report also provides a more realistic assessment of an individual’s leadership skills than self-assessment alone.

Of the 5000+ employees who have undertaken the 360 LT, 93% would recommend it to others.
