Dr Sanjay Krishnamoorthy

Dr Sanjay Krishnamoorthy is a specialist registrar in Acute Medicine with a special interest in medical leadership and management, and in particular, the role of junior doctors as current and future leaders with the NHS. He has worked on a number of local improvement projects prior to applying for a post on the Clinical Fellow Scheme, which has led him to work for the CQC. He is currently working with Professor Sir Mike Richards within the acute sector of hospital inspections.

He has undertaken various leadership positions in his career so far, ranging from representing the United Arab Emirates at a Global Young Leaders Conference to reflecting the trainee voice during the establishment of the Medical Admission Unit at King’s College Hospital.

Sanjay has a keen interest in undergraduate medical education and set up an interdisciplinary simulation program at the Royal Free Hospital for nursing and medical students. He also debriefs at advanced simulation courses and has developed innovative models for establishing cost effective, sustainable simulation faculties.

His upbringing is truly international, having been born in Mumbai, grown up in Dubai before coming to Bristol to read medicine. In his spare time, he is a keen musician and sportsman and a particular cricket and squash enthusiast.
