Dr Sarah Carlton

North East England regional lead, Trainee Steering Group

Sarah graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2019. She was awarded the Batty Shaw Med Chi Prize for outstanding contribution to the medical school due to her involvement in societies and support for other medical students. Sarah went on to complete her foundation programme in Cumbria where she developed a passion for medical leadership, representing foundation doctors in sessions with the school and leading a change in staffing levels and culture on a ward she worked on. After taking some time to solo travel while working, she has since started GP Training in the North East.

Sarah is passionate about improving workplace culture through leadership and believes trainees are an essential part of this, as they are both in leadership positions and being led.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, wild swimming and surfing!
