The standards concept and FMLM specialty guidance on appraisal

The webinars on 13 and 22 May were intended for any member of the FMLM  interested in the development of standards for effective medical leadership and management in healthcare, and during the first webinar Dr Robin Cordell focussed on those interested in guidance for appraisal for the leadership and management aspects of a doctor's practice.

The objectives were to:

  • outline the FMLM standards project and the arrangements for consultation with members and other stakeholders
  • set in context the proposals for building and accreditation of leadership and management competences; further detail will be provided in ther second webinar on 22 May
  • seek feedback on the draft FMLM 'specialty guidance' on appraisal, prior to consultation with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) with a view to publication at the end of Jun 2014 of a First Edition of the FMLM specialty guidance for appraisal for the leadership and management aspects of a doctor's practice
