Time to think – helping medical experts to become inspiring leaders

Medical professionals are trained to be experts in their field. Patients look to them for answers to their questions; GPs refer patients to specialists; specialists’ professional status is intricately bound up with their knowledge, skills and reputation in their chosen field.

But what if adopting the role of expert does not always deliver the best possible results? What if helping people to think for themselves is an essential part of being an inspirational leader? Nancy Kline has spent a lifetime researching the system she calls the Thinking Environment ™, a model of human interaction that dramatically improves the way people think, and thus the way they work and live. Listening – the quality of people’s attention for each other – is the core of this method.

This webinar was hosted by Ms Liz McCaw, Managing Director at Headspace for Business, and Mr Kevin White CB, FCIPD, an experienced HR Director turned qualified coach.
